Mister Tim (aka Tim Jones, aka Tim Y. Jones, aka mooseTim, aka Timothy Young, aka ‘Dad’) is a singer, composer, performer, actor, conductor, sound engineer, recording artist, husband and father currently based in Las Vegas, NV. He gleefully frolics through musical styles (classical, contemporary, comedy, experimental) and while he works in many definable genres, he as an individual is incredibly difficult to define or explain in simple terms.

Below is an attempt, in as-simple-as-possible terms, to briefly describe his work and interests.
Mister Tim is a teacher, composer, conductor and performer in a variety of vocal and choral-related fields. As the creator of, and artistic director for, the a cappella ensembles moosebutter (moosebutter.com), Vocality (vocalitysingers.com), Plumbers of Rome (plumbersofrome.com), and many others, Tim has won awards for his arrangements, original compositions, performances and recording projects, including runner-up and top American group at the 2003 Harmony Sweepstakes finals, runner-up in the Los Angeles, Chicago, and Rocky Mountain Harmony Sweepstakes, a semi-final appearance and special awards in the 2003 ICCA competition, and various individual and song awards from Harmony Sweepstakes and the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards.
Mister Tim has toured professionally and is well known in the international a cappella and regional performing arts world for innovative and original entertainment content, including the world’s first hardcore heavy metal a cappella band (placentalarmageddon.com).
Mister Tim composes and arranges works for a variety of ensembles, hosts the Contemporary A Cappella Society a cappella originals podcast, produces audio and video for independent artists, and consults and coaches school ensembles, performing groups, and individuals in many performing genres. Tim has coached award-winning college and high school groups in Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Massachussetts, North Carolina and Virginia, as well as having taught classes and workshops to private groups and at the biggest a cappella events in the nation, covering topics from music business to songwriting to vocal percussion and creative staging.
Mister Tim currently manages the Vocality Music Company, a representation and resource business for top a cappella talent in the Rocky Mountain region. www.vocalitysingers.com.
Mister Tim is the creative force behind comedy a cappella legends moosebutter, deconstructionist a cappella trio The Plumbers of Rome, heavy metal a cappella parody band Placental Armageddon, the vocal jazz/world music quintet Vocality, percussion ensemble The Bucket Brigade, Elvis tribute quartet TheKing4, college all-stars group The 40th Parallel, and the cutting edge choral group The Timothy Young Ensemble. His groups have won awards at 5 different Harmony Sweepstakes regionals and one ICCA semi-final, including runner-up at the 2003 Sweeps finals, multiple Contemporary A Cappella Awards, and have performed thousands of shows around the United States.
Mister Tim is completing a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting at the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO. He coaches and workshops groups nationwide in contemporary vocal, choral, performance, arranging, and songwriting methods. He also composes and arranges works for choral ensembles, guest conducts groups and honor choirs, and performs with groups as guest artist.
Mister Tim was awarded the 2008 A Cappella Impact Award for outstanding contribution to the field of Contemporary A Cappella from the Rocky Mountain Harmony Sweepstakes.
The Mister Tim solo vocal show is a mix of live-looping, experimental tech-based vocal performance, and souped up Karaoke.
Mister Tim is one of the world’s most vocal advocates for original music in a cappella. You can hear Tim as the host of CASA’s A Cappella Originals podcast.
Mister Tim resides in Las Vegas, where he sang for 6 months with the Vegas cast of Toxic Audio, and is currently vitalizing the Sin City vocal music scene with numerous a cappella and choral music projects.
